Designed in 1920 by the Riojan architect Fermín Álamo, it constitutes the best civil building of the first half of the 20th century, characterized by its closed lines and rich historicist ornamentation inspired by the Spanish Renaissance. It was inaugurated in 1921, suffering an accelerated deterioration after ceasing its activities as theater and cinema. In 2009, the rehabilitation of the theater was approved, reopening on May 8, 2015.
